What must we now do to enable our future citizens realise their potential ? for our City to realise its potential ?. This is my first attempt to create a blog and I have only recently even heard of the concept so please bear with me until I get familiar with what works and what does not.
The purpose of this blog is to generate some ideas on how will Dublin be in 2050 and beyond. We are looking for contributions in a context that are non political by reference to any party today.
I have no doubt from my dealings with politicians and government officials that they all try hard and invest a lot of time and energy in their activities. I think that politicians try to reflect the views of their electorate which they think are sensible in the context of their own views and hopefully communicate those to the electorate which will vote for them. What many main stream ones are unwilling to do is to play their role in lobbying for may seem like futuristic gobbledygook to many. Thus it becomes the role of influencers be they residents associations, press, business associations to create a potential vision of the future and then to promote what should be done now to secure a worthwhile vision of our future. I hope to kick off the discussion by put headings out there. What I am really looking for is contributions.

How to change the world
Social entrepreneurs and the power of new ideas.
"This book contains remarkable stories about how individuals can change the world around them and improve the lives of literally millions of people. Our ability to sustain economic success depends, crucially; on the health of our society. A key challenge for Ireland in the years' ahead is to transfer some of the energy and ideas which have been the foundation of our economic success into social challenges. I have no doubt that the stories contained in 'How to change the world' will inspire many to help make a difference" An Taoiseach, Bertie Ahearn -
